I can vouch for the Re-rig quality on this build. I used Johnny's team at TNT and had Ron's crew at Electronics Unlimited go back thru my electronics when o went with 400Rs. When he says it's better than when it came out of the factory it's true. Sorry Pete your my hero also but the quality of workmanship and attention to detail is unmatched. My build is also documented on OSO.

Good luck with the sell Brett and I volunteer to wash the race boat!

    Sam.

Not going to take this thread down but I'm getting ready to paint the boat now and will likely keep it. I'm not really open to offers other than asking price. I hate selling things for this very reason. Where are sellers like me when I want to buy stuff lol? I would have snatched this up the second I got done reading the build thread, talking to Ron and Johnny.

    Update

Tanks were done at Skater 12/16/09 at a cost of $18,000. This was verified by Pete himself who was standing next to Tyson when I asked.

I have had all little areas in the hull repaired that had showed wear, revised the rear seat conversion done by Boat Customs to beef it up, and had the entire hull gone through to make it like new with the epoxy and techniques recommended by Skater. The paint is currently a 6 and I'm glad I haven't repainted it before making the hull new again.

I spent another $8,000 on the hull this winter.

New price is $140,000 for several reasons

    1. This boat is right minus a paint job. By right I mean the best of everything done by TNT, dialed in by JT himself, 100% all new rigging, interior, motors, 2 sets of Dewalds ($3500 each), the last set of Nass Cowlings produced ($3500), plus the original factory cowlings. It has all the most modern electronics and dash with a killer stereo, underwater lights, and big Garmin GPS.
    2. Boat has 40 hours and was just serviced including the lower units
    3. The new 28s being produced are going to exceed $300k and will not have better rigging than mine.
    4. It's about a 2 year wait to get a new one.
    5. The price of a new 318 went up "big time" for 2017
    6. You can not find any 28 that needs done, re do it as brand new for this price.
    7. I know of someone with a very nice 28 (not as nice as this one but very nice) who turned down $150k in the past month.
    8. I think the days of finding a well done 28 Skater under $100k are gone with the resurgence in popularity of outboard cats.

I'm just updating this in case someone wants one now. This is what it will take for me to give mine up. The price will go up after I paint it in the fall. For the record, I'm still losing almost $30,000 at this price.

    Happy Hunting everyone!
