Is a 2002 Mercury 250efi Powerhead the same as optimax?
Just wondering if the Powerheads are the same? Basically looking at buying a Powerhead I blew my 2002 Mercury 250 efi. I've seen a lot of optimax Powerheads for sale. As long as the compression checks out are the optimax the same as in can i put on my electrical accessories etc and be the same as the efi or no? Thanks for any help.

Thats the plan i was just exploring ideas. I've been having a hard time finding someone that rebuilds outboard crankshafts. I just need one journal repaired does anyone know of anybody in Florida? I was told somebody in Miami does it but nobody I have talked to has a name or phone number.

Don't rebuild that crank just find a used one. The repairs always fail. A used crank for that should run $500-$600. They are pretty easy to find. Repairing one cost about the same....
