    Going back to my roots

Well the etec is sold, Im going back to my roots, the only dilemma I have is 300xs or 400r, I have owned 2 21 superboats with twins so weight is not a issue, I just wish there was one already rigged, but i guess Ill be the guinea pig again, i have no regreats with the etec because I love the rig and testing, I guess Ill just add another diaploma to my wall

    .

Also, if you enter 3 races, you can order the 400ROS 15" mids motor. I believe the deadline is coming for the order-window of these race motors. They're like the 200XS where one can order the 400ROS at a certain time of the year

I've read that the 400ROS is lighter than the 400R

400ROS is minimal weight difference than the standard 400Rs...think maybe 20lbs. Dirk, you might want to ask some of our Aussie boys about the 400Rs on 21 ft hulls.

Please go with the 400.... I'd love to hear how you like it. I've been thinking of selling my etec after this season and doing the same.
Just think the boat will be so much better with the added power of the Big inline bad boy on the back.

400 all the way, lots of setup time ahead though. When finished it will be rediculous. I do like the idea of the 15" mid if you can pull that off. Will look 100 times better and couldnt hurt getting that weight 5" lower.

Remember the ROS motors have no warranty. Not sure I'd spend $28k and not at least keep Mercury on the hook for a couple years.

Why is it that much more? Thought the motor is the same except for the mid. Im sure some of our guys here could cut one down and still have most of your warranty and a lot more cash in your wallet

I remember a certain gentleman down in Florida posting this a while back:

Is it a fishin motor with some racin stripes . Of course it is . Do guys turn the key to start a running motor , that you cant hear running . Of course they do . Do they coke up the oil on the common wall between the oil bag and ex log . Of course they do .
Is there room inside the mid for a double wall stainless boom tube . Of course there is . Is there room inside the crank case for that Pee-Wee Herman rotating assy to grow . Of course there is ... Do we already have a 15" can tacked up in the jig ..... You aint gettin my pooww krakka azz fired ...
