Should I assume almost all of them will need the floor, stringers, and or transom rebuilt???

No. Each one would need to be checked. I've had 5 and none needed anything like that but I have seen several others that did. It's all in how they were stored and taken care of. Paying up for a nice one is way better than rebuilding.

Exactly. My boat isn't perfect, but I don't have any rot or soft spots

Pretty sure the one on the Sylvania craigslist has already been looked at by "the man". If I'm not mistaken that white block on the bow is for a trolling motor. Yeah. That would not be one I would want

Yes it had a trolling motor mounted on the front. 4 screws plus a DC power plug. And the carpet & all the interior is really bad. Who is "the man", does it start with a "W" ? Also I'm trying to contact the one in Myrtle Beach, but can't seem to connect. And its a little pricy considering it has been in salt water. It's been listed for sale for 1.5 years, makes we wonder why it hasn't sold. Do you know any thing about it? Thanks Ray

Yep. Starts with a W. No, don't know anything about the other one. Had mine for over a year and haven't even put it in the water yet.

Maybe you should sell it to me, I will use it THIS weekend & many more to come. And you can come ride in it... Free, what a deal... I pay all the bills.

I probably should but then I would be doing exactly what you're doing now. I know how hard they are to come by. That's why a nice one will bring all the money.

Lol. Yeah I only managed to run mine twice this year due to staying busy with work and other projects. The same situation happened a 7 years ago and I sold mine to a friend because I just lost interest, got married and no time. It didnt take long it all sank in. Luckily a year and a few months after selling I bought it back. My wife refers to it as "my first born". Hopefully something will turn up for ya.

HEY... Does anybody know if the boat in Sylvania has rotten wood??? Please post, PM, or call me 828-707-7275. if you have looked at that boat. ALSO when I get a v21, I DO NOT want a finicky race boat motor that need a lot of attention. I want a v21 to cruse & ski with... Not run 100. Mid 80's would be good, without changing prop. So would a rebuilt Mariner 2.5 260 fit that need? OR what motor should I be looking for? "i.e. please advise year, model, prop, etc. etc." Thanks Ray... Also has anyone looked at the 1996 v21 with the 2.5 Mariner, on the Triad Facebook page in Myrtle Beach. I'm trying to see why it has not sold, before I take the time to go look at it.

For a engine, for what you are looking for, a stock Pro Max 225, maybe with oil injection removed, is a solid performer, you can run a 28 pitch for top end and drop to 23 or a little larger when you have a boat load of people and pulling skiers. Just my $0.02 worth.
