It looks more like it was painted with Spray on Plastidip rubberized coating.

Just from what I see in the pictures.

I don't know how we got from my cowl question to what your spraying on the top of your heads.

If I don't ask any questions, I'll never learn anything.

    OEM's are always plastic?
Just taking in this info, this is good to know. As long as its correct.
    Mine's definitely not plastic
    ~Yes!
    ~Yes

Like stated, looks to be an "Eagle One".
Is the metal plate on the pan aluminum? If it is I say 99.9% is an "Eagle One".
Maybe someone got creative lightly blasted the finish then sprayed a satin finish.

Probably told original buyer/client, it would make the motor and boat faster with that satin finish....

    Yes, Its definitely Aluminum.
I would have thought they all were based on rust and weight.

Heres a few pics of how mine is mounted to the lower pan, you can also see the so called "upside down" clamp mentioned earlier.

Learning something new everyday here. Thanks for the info guys.

Glad to hear you are learning something here every day, this is a great place with many knowledgeable and helpful members!!
No, OEM plates are stainless and early HP where anodized steel.
I would suggest to cut some holes upper rear section for air intake though. The best thing to do is when you are around an OEM alien cowl is copy them.

I'm not aware there are problems with him. That's why I asked. I'll try looking it up.

First year alien, this is my '98 promax. As stated above, if factory it will be plastic with air scoops

There have been probably 100 or more claims against eagle one on this site. Everyone has their good days and bad days, but they have had A LOT of bad days. Screwing the high performance community almost never turns up well, word carries fast.
