That's good for enlarging the ports yeah, proper nice, but it didn't put the chamfers in ha ha
be nice to have a machine to do it, but I dont mind the doing it by hand, especially now winter is upon us over here.
a friend of mine is buying a new milling set up soon, he has no idea how much stuff I will have for him to practise on.
If I managed to get the sleeves out, would the block need to be warmed up and sleeves cooled to get them back in , or just press them in.

Heat block to 400 takes about 30-40 min they slide out and slide in. Cooling them in the fridge or freezer makes them grab too fast. Cools the aluminum and u have less time to align the ports. I keep them shop temp so the last 10 I did were about 98* same as the shop.

Yup...funny how things go that way sometimes. Guilty of that myself.
Bought a new to me Formula ws6 years ago...I'm just going to put a K&N filter in it...leave it stock...
It's setting in the basement now with slicks, ford 9", full suspension, and a lumpy motor with a shot of juice. Yea...gonna leave it stock...
But Hey...It's all in fun...Right!

I used my BBQ to remove the sleeves out of my V8 Erude. I ran the BBQ at low flame just enough to get it 450 degrees and placed the block in and covered the lid with welding blankets. It took about 45 minutes and the sleeves came out real easy.

I will try to rig up something to see if I can get it hot enough, the wife likes her cooker a bit too much ( its pretty new )
if the sleeves do come out easy this would be a doddle of a job and must make doing the whole thing a lot easier.
Or am I going a bit too far and a small die grinder will be good enough ? 9 if I can get in there )
I am going to a tool fair the weekend and will see what is around, if they have what I am after I might get a deal on something nice.
if not then I will try for an early xmas present .
I will talk to her in doors and explain that it seems real silly to have a nice compressor in the garage but no die grinder !!! she just might fall for it ha ha .

I am trying think if a die grinder could be used in cake making !!!! or something else in the kitchen, that could swing it, but of course not on a regular basis ha ha

she went totally mental when I suggested using her precious kenwood for paint mixing, lost a bit of weight that month....
