Reviving this thread. How would a Tuff 24 do with a new 300R?

Hmmmm. I'd be surprised if they are not testing one in stealth mode right now.

It would do great. I think the 1.75 gears are too low though, would do way better with 1.62. As would any light fast boat.

Bet it would be hard to beat a carbon cowled 300xs ,162 SM ,raised limiter to 7000 rpm 34 pitch dewalt setup on the 24? I could be wrong but from what ive read and watched the 400R is cancelled out buy weight,Gear Case and weight. On bigger hulls it seems to do better. A higher rpm 300xs with 162 on the 24 would do what speed propped right? i dont think this has been on the 24 yet only new motors stock configurations?

You may be right but on a hull this size the torque of the V8 would help. A 34 on the limiter is 110, which likely is faster than the 300xs would push it, so the 1.75 may be somewhat of a non-factor in this case, although it would be nice to pitch down to 32 or 30 with the 1.62. A 300xs falls on it's face well before 7000, so the rpms aren't going to help a ton in terms of max speed.

    The 21 Liberator with a 400R and a 34" max5 ran 111 at 6900. Rev limit on a 400 is 7200.

Was that the fastest a 21 Liberator has gone with a single?

I should have been more clear, I was just saying a 300r with 1.75 should still yield a similar or better speed than the 300xs with 7k limit in this situation. On the bigger cats where they run 115+, you start to run out of rpm. However, on a 24 foot boat with a single 300, I think you can get away with 1.75 and 6400 limiter with props like the 34 max 5 because that calculates out to 110 or so, which is probably more than the 300 will be able to pull anyway. Thus, the 1.75 doesn't really matter as much here

Awesome boat, I am sure the price is in-line with what it cost to build but you wont see it in the US for those numbers...

Like I said we should test 3 like boAts a 24 ruff deff the fastest ,24 progression and superboat. The super being slowest but a z blast to drive n w go throw anthing so put a 300xs a 300 r and 400 r n see if the price is worth the Doller diff. The xs is 5-6 more than 300rand the 400 r being 7ish more. I think g 300xs is most bang for buck but could b wrong g
