Yes,same for any conventional motor,-and the impeller vanes will flip back and forth when changing directions without damage,Chris

how long is the leak down done for at each setting ?
lets say at TDC for example, you load it up with 50 or 70 psi etc then look at the gauge, but how long for ? 2 minutes, 15 minutes etc ?.
or is this a straight away test within a few seconds ?
leakdown test id very new to me , so any info is good.

The reading should stabilize a couple of seconds after the piston stops moving,Chris

sounds like it is dead easy to do this test , ill have a go tomorrow and see if I can bugger it up ha ha .
