Fall River, MA / Bristol, RI Offshore Powerboat Association - Short Video

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MprXJh2-rOw

Not many contenders in the big boats, but quite a few little ones. Here's just a short clip. Alex and Ani boat was shooting for 180 this day, but ended up either blowing a drive or throttle cable and went into the marina after 4 or 5 laps. On the downwind in the lieu of the land, they were Boogie-ing!

A good day - got kinda snotty in the afternoon for my little 14 footer, but a great day! Rare the racing boys come to new-england!!!!

The results haven't been posted yet - but they'd be posted here:
    http://www.oparacing.org/standings.html

There's an awful lot of no-shows in all the classes.

Our little cat took a beating in that water, It was soooooo flat Saturday and Sunday morning and when we went out Sunday (3pm) the wind and waves really kicked up. While in milling we had roller breaking over our front, and I knew we would be in trouble.. lol

But thanks for the video and for coming out to watch!

Were you the euro cat w/ the orange pickle tips? That thing was screaming! Only a 200 on that?

If you think you took a beating... How about my little 14' boat on the way home ! ! ! haha. We were seasick just watching in the rollers.
But yes, the cruise out there was mirror smooth. Welcome to New England... The afternoon sea-breeze kicks in, and it always gets snotty.

If you go to my YouTube channel from that link, you'll see a short video of the typical waves around BeaverTail (Newport area) on a calm day.

Yes, I own the YUKA race cat and I'm looking at bringing another over in the near future. It was some strange water, not sure if it was the tides, winds, boat traffic or all the above. The water was fast and smooth in some areas and nasty chop in other and off around the lighthouse it was 2-3ft rollers.. lol

She held up with no damage other than a broken GPS dash bracket.

In the afternoon, the tide was coming in, and the wind was coming in also - Made for a great smooth pass when you guys were heading towards the battleship, passing the tipsy seagull on your right. From the looks of it, the Alex and Ani must have been doing 180 on that downwind / with the tide. Must have been a lot smoother over by the shore.
Your cat looked awesome out there ! Congrats on your 2nd place. I was anchored at the roughest part of the course... Right where everyone started to slow down out in the open part of the bay.
