Its been 90 but with a 29 chopper. I put a Eagle 3 30 and it rips in the mid range and pulls hard to 85 with lots left in her and then blows out every time . Had some epoxy issues on my lower so I redid it all nice and smooth thinking that was the issue and still no good. Id like to get the blowout ring on it. It looks like I'm going to have to make it as no one is really giving me and direction where to buy one.

That's great ty. I saw the tabs that guys weld/rivet/or epoxy on but my buddy tried it years ago on his Venus Xt and it didn't help any. He has a blow out ring on his lower so I'd like to try that first or make some stuff to move the prop back towards the case more to reduce the gap.

I sold all the blow rings I had when we closed. The 3.6 lower takes a different style, the 2 rear carrier bolts get replaced and the blow out ring gets bolted to the replacement carrier bolts. These are getting hard to find, in most cases would raise blow out speed 3 mph. At the speed you are going IMO a nose cone is a better option. It is also important that the lower goes thru the water straight meaning neutral trim and not crabbing. Be safe and use the proper safety equipment.

Yea I have a nose cone and the lower is smooth with no chips or imperfections. Goes 88 trimmed low but once I creep up blows out every time. Machined the collar before the output shaft down so the prop can be moved forward towards the lower which helped but I can't go any further. So I gotta find a ring for it. Any help would be appreciated. She's got a bunch left in her if I can get this sorted out.

Do you have power steering? I had a V8 on a Vulture and with power steering you don't realize the torque steer, Like Al said, I had to put about 3/4's of a torque tab to get the gear case to run straight, I also ran a blowout ring but it didn't help till the case was running true.

Yea I'm running Hydraulic steering. Latham marine ram. A friend of mine tried the tourque tab on his Venis years back with no luck. Same hull same motor with hydraulic steering. I'd like to try the blow out ring first as moving the prop towards the front of the boat is def helping it out.
