Hey, I started on stuff like that! Me and my childhood friend built some cool junk! In fact were STILL at it both us! The one I had at one time, had the small rear wheel on Eds, second pic. I found a 20 inch bike wheel with a Triumph drum brake laced in, pulley other side. Mounted the motor on a hinge and stepped down a pedal to tighten the belt! Ended up putting a big spring in front to hold tension, and pedal in the rear now to loosen the belt! Kept the front brake though! HA! Think Ed had the old school dual braking system. Called left and right gym shoes! We had a LOT of fun as kids and we still are!

We all gotta start someday Gary. It was damn FUN times me and Ed kids, hit the open garbage dump and .."go picking"! Search for bike parts, mower engines, etc. Cobble some junk together, and ..? "IT WORKS" Needs brakes though! That junk I built (5 HP motor) was clocked by a cop when cops always asked? "What the hell is he up too now"? 43 MPH..(in a 35 zone too)!
