Merc 300XS and 300X Question

I have one of each and love them both. I did buy one of the last 300x's in a box recently as well just in case.

I think there are a few 300's out there for sale now, because some boats are getting 400R replacements.

After watching the shootout for two days and based on real world numbers it looks like to me the 300x is king. Stats below are from closed course radar gun.

1) Two 28 Skaters: Tom Kennedy 123mph. 300x power vs 28' with 300xs stock 106mph. Granted Brett's 28 is heavy and given weight disadvantage give him 6 more mph. Still 10mph difference.
2) 24' Skater with 2.5 280s. 114mph. Kennedy's old 24 Skater 300x power 124mph.
3) 23' MTR with 280's 114mph. Boat was very loose. Nothing close to 120mph claims. Boat only ran once.
4) 308 Skater w stock 300xs power 99mph. I run 109mph any day normal loads. Again 10mph.
5) Triple 300x Tri-Toon 114mph. Closest twin 400r toon boat low 80mphs.
6) 32' Skater 300xs's Gary Ballough's old boat low 100mphs. This is widened old race boat that is light.

I know there are some exceptions with the light single engine boats like Adam' or Dales but they are not stock set ups.
Just thought i would share with you guys for those who did not get to watch.
