This is a close up of the boat I ran at Nationals a month later in SE. The number is different and that is not me in the boat. The only times that boat was run in SE were the two races I ran it with my 650. In this picture it would be rigged for SD with a 500 that Action owned. Several drivers ran it like that.

I think that picture may be of Robert Stewart. Robert was a customer of Action Marine. He bought a 13 and ran it with a 50. After the last time I ran the boat in SE at the Stadium he bought this boat and ran it briefly in SD. The following year when I started running my McCall in SD this boat was not competitive and Robert dropped out of site. I like that shot of JP with Olegator right in the middle. He was the only one I ever saw run one of those Hydrostreams with a J motor. Usually they ran in GP class and the Venturas were run in JP.

That would be The Flying Fowl, Gary Peacock.

Gary added that ugly "air bump" to the rear of the cowling, must have been the "in" thing to do at the time.

That boat was originally built for Renato to run in the Miami 225 in February of 1972. It was one of two new design 17' sprints sent to Lake X, Renato and his brother Georgio came over to set it up. However, he never got to race it as the 225 was blown out.

In the picture below (sure wish I could make big pictures again) you can see this boat as #554. You can also see Gary's old Molinari #22. When the event was cancelled, the boat was transferred to Gary to get him into something more competitive than he had been running. Georgio is also in the picture, standing behind the white Molinari on the far left.

This one looks like the start of a heat of SD class at the Stadium. I recognize ED Hauptner trying not to blow over but I don't recall the other two boats. The motor just going out of frame bottom right looks like mine,if so I wasn't aware of all that action behind me.
