    Greg, thank you for all of the effort you have put into bringing all of this history back to life, great memories
    I kind of remember Lanham and Magoon doing a flyby next to our Fino production boat one race day.

    All photos on the offshore boats, starts etc. can be attributed to the Hennessy-Hurricane Classic race it was the first race of the 1972 APBA circuit, which took place in St. Petersburg on February 19th.
    This is deductible from the date FEB 72 of all the photos.
    Confirming this are the images of the Copper Kettle of Satullo which made its debut just in that race, winning.
    Even the photo of the 21' Abbate cat of the German Oskar Trost confirms it because that boat previously had made it's first race in Miami December 1971 America's Cup.
    All the images during the race are in calm waters like the cronicle of the race confirm and the location of some pics it seems is off St. Petrsburg like FUJIMO has spotted.
    Really beautiful and interesting pics! Thanks to Greg (Scream & Fly) for sharing them. Waiting for others...

    This is a pit shot at the 1975 OPC Nationals in Miami just after the completion of a heat race in FJ class. The boats are lined up to get weighed. Just pulling out is Ben Robertson in his Allison, second is my brother Allen Nelson in the just introduced Ventura 2 Hydrostream, third - unknown, forth is Larry Guimond, fifth is Ron Baker. Can't tell after that.

    Hey everybody, I'm sorry for the delay. I made an upgrade to the scanner I've been using so I am in the process of getting that configured. I will be back into scanning this week.

    Super Light yes....not so sure about the Super Strong part.......Even today...the "space age" light weights have frequent delamination... and many of them behave like either potato chips in a strong wind or empty Clorox bottles in big seas.

    @Black Tornado @MN4V

    Fantastic details, thank you for posting that! I absolutely love history like this, and I have many more photos coming. I am working on batch 5 right now. I meant to have it up much sooner, but I wanted to switch to another scanner. The one I was using (Canon) produced excellent output but it was quite slow and the high resolution I was scanning. I kept the first Canon scanner though, as a backup.

    I'm planning on having batch 5 up in just a few days!

    Thank you everybody, and thank you so much for adding those details!
    Greg
