My engine height must be too low, at even, to get the RPM up.
I've been looking for a SRX, tough to find.

Are you using an OMC ? What HP and speed ?

It's a 97 John S. built boat 92 200 evinrude 86 225 heads with those head120psi comp. 6'' bob's plate even or a little below the pad best speed 96gps 91-92 average set up for drag 85 in the 1/4. my boat would run mid 70 on 5 cylinders. make sure the motor is getting wide open timed right and isn't running lean or to fat. That prop should be a good prop with good bow lift. My srx is a DAH mod. and I have a 29 Mazco hp 6200+.

The midsection and hood are pre 93 as far as we can tell. Same for the trim. The power head was confirmed to be a 99 225 ho swapped onto the older mid. Exhaust relief exits through the pans so I'm guessing it's a 91 or 92? Next step is going to be to verify the timing and carb sync. Just waiting on a manual. We did a leak down test the other day. The worst cylinder was 18% the rest were 10-12. Getting a little weak. Main jet is 76d which I read was stock for the 225 ho. Also verified the part numbers on the carb bodies as stock for 225 ho and 250

Thanks Frank. If you have time this weekend, maybe I can drag the rig over to you and you can have a look.

    Wanted to update this.

The stator was fried, that's why it didn't have the giddyup it should have had. One whole winding was completely burnt and a second on the way, also missing a couple of the pickup plates which sit on the end of the windings.
Kinda surprised it was running at all.

Have to replace the stator, going to do the power pack as well.
A friend of my brother is re-donig the lower, changing the torque wedge and shaping the bullit.

    Should run better this year.

    Frank.
Once my brother and I get it back together I'll run down to the bottom of Sturgeon and look for your boat house.
Ste, erm, borrow that 29 SRX
