Cool how much reliable HP can be built into the 300x platform?

interested in moving a 27' offshore capable rig for poker runs and some island hopping like Bimini, must be reliable, but want to be able to hang. fun out

Yes, contact Joe at Dave Bush Racing - he can help you out (Dave is always busy in the dyno room being the mad scientist that he is). 370HP is what they're getting in a reliable platform. We're going to be running one on a 21MTR at the Parker 336 this Fall.

I would run XS motors. You will use a lot less fuel and be stone dependable. I am one of the biggest fans of the 300X motor but when it comes to having twins on something that you are going to log miles with the XS makes more $ence to me. It will still run in the mid seventies if the hull is at least half way efficient.

Dale is right on the hp output of a stroker X at 370-380 (6500 rpm) if you don't mind hitting all of the fuel stops.

I second 300xs you will be a few mph short up top but plenty of mid range and it will sip fuel.

...A 27 Fountain center-console...or sportdeck? Man, thats a lot of motor(s) for that rig, in the Gulfstream. I would think that twin 300's should do 80+ as-is, in calm water...no?

not sure what it was called but not center console, has a little foreward cabin area and windshield with tube and canvas top. that is what I was thinking on top end, 80+,,, fast enough to run with the Florida Powerboat Club poker runs, they've added a group of outboard centerconsole types to their agenda

I remember being at the Miami boat show the year they were introduced in the Mercury display and meeting a guy who had just bought 2 and had 1 or both fail within months of purchase and was waiting on warrantee action, things that make you go ,,, hmmm.
