That just indicates a combined catalog. It can't be all of em.

    Merc parts site says it's a 25" 200

This one looks like a short shaft for sure. Guy has it on a sidewinder with 20 inch transom. Could you take a peak at this pic for me and tell me what you think ?
    Thanks

I'm a little late to the party here due to working way too many hours. Here's what my 1992 2.5 / 200 Offshore looks like with a 25" shaft. Note that the cowl has been cut (shortened) to make room for the Latham Wing Plate.

The motor your going to look at is a 20 inch mid. Look at the picture you posted and the one TooStoked posted. There is midsection below the mounts on his picture and almost none on your pic. Also look at the shift shaft on his pic as well, it is much more visible on the 25" motor. Id bring a comp tester and fire it up while your there. It should be a good motor on your stream, i thought about it for my project valero but already have a 150 super mag for it. That motor may have been a 25" motor at one time, then someone swapped the mid for a 20"

Thanks for your help. Going in the morning for compression test then bringing it home. Hope it's ok in the back of my truck. Any tips of moving it? Thanks again

Does the guy have an engine hoist or a winch to lift it with? Do you have the motor off your valero? Bolting the 200 onto your valero would be your best bet to get it home safe. If not have a bunch of moving blankets or similar to protect the pan when its in the truck. Put the hood in the cab of the truck for safe keeping. Possibly support the powerhead and lower unit so it doesnt want to rock/bounce even when you strap it down. I have an engine shipping base from the crate they ship outboards in for when i need to move engines. Send me a pm if you need a hand with the boat or have questions, im over by lake simcoe so not too far away from peterborough

Awesome. Thanks a lot! No old motor is still on. Bringing boat and new motor all together tonight. I'm outside Peterborough 2. We are close. This is my 2nd Valero. Last one was really ruff with 1991 2.5 200 on it. Old cable steering. It wasn't safe. So spent some extra money this time around to have something a little easier on the eyes. Lol. Thanks again for the help. I'm sure I'll be in touch soon with some question. Thanks s&f.
