I see a Campion Chase there they are built very near to me as the crow flys from were i live. There are a ton of them up hear. Nice decent quality boats!! Is there an HO under 525 lbs yet over 225hp? 15/20 inch legs both available or just 20+? Looks like you got treated as you deserve and had a great time Greg!! Awesome i actually really ike the G2. Just one look at Dirks setup on his Tuff 21 and its hard to imagine anything that would be better looking on his sweet setup!! Be cool to have a yellow accented 16 inch one on my GS.

Not sure if there is an HO under 525, evinrude . com will have the specs. To my knowledge 15" isn't offered on the larger OBs.
Dirk has a G1 300, agree it looks sweet!

20" G2 E-TEC models from 200HO thru 300hp start at 537 lbs. Remember, that includes the oil tank and the integral steering cylinder.
    20" G1 E-TEC models 200HO thru 300hp weigh in at 507lbs.

The new small block (2.7 liter) G2's weigh 496 lbs. I'm actually starting to like the design. Love the color options.

Just 20+ new small block HO is 2.7 liter. Weighs 496 lbs. I think a little more with dynamic steering. Wish there was something lighter with new tech!!!

No. All 300 hp G2 models feature integral hydraulic steering.

They went from the real XS 250 to the Pro xs and lost up to 10 mph....
So you want to compare a 250XS "custom built by MERCURY RACING" with 1 year warranty, to a fishing boat motor with 7 year warranty? A race motor with a higher rev limit and requires 91 octane minimum against a fishin motor running 87. Sounds fair .

I have a G1 250HO that NEEDS 93 octane and has no rev limit. Bring ur 250xs ill line up

Based on my experience attending many events, operating many boats so-equipped, and understanding the technology, I think there are still a lot of deep-seeded, old misconceptions about what the E-Tec is today. It's not a Ficht. It's an entirely different engine. The G2 is also not your standard E-Tec. It is also an entirely different platform than that. I think a lot of opinions are being based on the idea that the G2 is basically a tweaked G1 E-Tec, which again, is not the case.

I am working on a comprehensive article on the G2 engine platform, and will try to go into a very high level of detail. I will also be arraigning more hands-on time to test different Evinrude engines. If anybody has specific ideas or requests, I am open to all of them, within reason of course. I would like to set up an article that essentially answers most of your questions about the G2.

I don't think that's what he's saying at all, hrs simply pointing out that the NEW 250 proXS is not a good comparison, the older 250 xs's were alot snappier.
