You may have two different issues. 1. bad lower seal on the swivel bracket. Grease inside the cavity has mixed with water over the years. Do you grease it every 6 months?
2. Possible powerhead base gasket failure. A leaky gasket just looks bad-engine may still run ok. The worst is that exhaust gas can leak out inside the cowling and that smoke can get re-ingested into the carbs. I'd prefer not to be running the engine on partial exhaust smoke. -that's the bigger problem.Last edited by EMDSAPMGR; 06-28-2016 at 01:12 PM. Reason: correction
