    pulsing from carb

When my 96 Evinrude 200 is running, #6 carb is pulsing air backwards. As in air/fuel vapor is coming out of the engine instead of going in.

    Busted reed?

    Thanks everyone

Thanks Chris. I will do that!

So I pulled the carbs and intake, there was a little flake of aluminum stuck holding one of the petals from sealing. Not sure where the aluminum came from, that sure doesn't sit well with me....

These are the older teacup intakes i bought from another member here that was parting out a 225. There was already alot of porting work done on them, and they had a set of used boyesen's.

Pardon my 2 stroke ignorance, but my stock reeds seal perfectly tight to the cages. The boyesen's curl back a bit showing a bit of light. Did some googling and it seems it's recommended to replace them when they start doing that?

Yeah, time to replace..... call Chris, he'll get you squared away...... may as well do a compression test too to make sure the engine didn't eat too much aluminum......

Called Chris today and wish I'd done it years ago.

He personally answered the phone, took the time to answer my questions, and volunteered a ton of great advise. Most guys in this business just want to sell you something and get you off the phone. Chris I appreciate you taking care of me, I know how busy you are.

Looking forward to getting the new reeds and trying them out!

    Thanks
