ValvTect octane boster and Mercury Optimax 300xs

Can I run ValvTect octane booster and not worry about hurting my 300xs engines? I don't have a good source for 91 non ethanol gas anymore, plus I keep my boat in a storage rack marina that only sells 89 octane.

I would like to be able to add 2 quarts to every 35 gallons of gas, this should raise the octane number of the 89 octane marina gas to 93 if I'm doing my math right.

I burn quicksilver synthetic blend oil if that matters.

Not sure but I don't think there would be that much increase 89 to 93. I have a 2007 300xs and all we have is the 10% ethanol fuel 93octane. no issues so far.

Thanks for the reply! I'm going by what Valvtect has been advertising on their bottles, and they claim two full numbers per quart when mixed with 35 gallons of fuel, so 2 quarts of their octane booster should make 35 gallons of 93 octane. Just wondering if mixing that much octane booster will have any adverse affects on an optimax. They are advertising octane numbers, not points like alot of other octane boosters.

I bet if you read the "fine print" that the numbers are "points' of octane increase. A point is 0.1 RON+MON/2 of increase or 89.0 to 89.2. At least this is what I have found from the snake oil out there. Aces IV, Two stroke formula seems to be what the 300XS tuners recommend.

LOL. I already fell for that once, the bottle said "raises octane 8 to 9 whole points" Here is a pic of the fine print on the Val tec bottle

They (valv-tec) claim 20 points or 2 whole numbers.

I can't find ACES sold in quart bottles, any suggestions on where to get it? To bad they don't sell it at West Marine or something like that.
