Yeah I can see that , more cast g flash in ports on this one than the other etc would be a possibility but that's a long way off and if it was a porting issue would you not expect there to be vairience in the rpm some pass to pass? Not dead exactly on 8k?

with 2.0's and a 20p I held it to the wood for at least 150' at 8k before crossing the bouy and it said exact same thing on the recall 8k exactly.

my guess would have been opposite of what you said about turning your TPS to lean it out. After I got my Brucato box I couldnt reach much over 7000 rpm untill i added fuel. Now no problem running over 7500 with a 26. Some had to do with the 2300ft above sea level but after I turned up the main fuel alot to feed the motor what it needed at higher rpm and lots more air Ive never had a problem with starving the motor since. Rather be fat than to lean... Those stock cowls and most of the after market ones dont supply enough air to the motor. theres a reason the 260 and 300,s have the front part of the cowl opened up. i just took out a big bit and started drilling holes in mine night and day!! I had to adjust the fuel again because I was getting so much more air into the intake. A pyro is friend when drilling holes. Drill test drill test add fuel test drill ect ect untill your happy. So maybe your fuel curve wont supply the rest of the fuel needed to make enough power to get past 8000 is what Im thinking?? Just an assumption. Nice think about tonys box is you dont need the tps anymore. Changing the fuel delivery also made a big difference for me. I deep 6ed all those tinny little inline filters and now run straight into the tps off the pulse pump, no water separator on the starboard side. that also opens up the intake more to take advantage of the 20 holes i drilled in my cowl. haha You running a prostock fuel delivery or off the pulse pump still? Or your recalls wrong. haha

Recalls dead on, not a cowl issue I almost put my 260 cowl on a while back, I have the front stood out on it some.

Cant run prostock fuel set up in this configuration would need to add weight and I'm not sure if it's worth the weigh they add on.

And im retiring this boat from race duty at end of season, have my xr2001 for next season so I don't want to take it too far away from a fishing set up.

But no, you need to lean them down to really turn up high, stock ecu adds fuel to limit rpm.

if its dead nuts EVERYTIME its tha same issue and porting IS one of 'em.... tha tps/tpi isn't gonna do a thing to tha 8 grand.....

You think the porting would cause it to stall on the exact rpm everytime? I mean it's pulling hard until it hits 8k on the nose.

And even a promax with with less flash than another one is still bigger than a 200 2.5 though right?

still think its ecu and fuel curve, drivers and that is all ya changed ('cept for block, right?) but yeah porting is all that... when ya run outta stuff its gonna quit every time... even when they are cut by machine they are checked/installed by people... coulda been on "its almost beer thirty, thats close enough day... from everything i've heard and read (never checked for myself, didn't really care long as it ran like its supposed to) tha 200 and promax sleeve porting is tha same..rod slots/exhaust ramps may be a little different... gettin' a little to old ta even try ta remember... hafta ask some of tha full time builders of each....

Buddy of mine suggested charging system might be over volting at that rpm and shutting ecu down.

Gonna swap all that around and see what happens.

Wires from stator to regulator were melted , so that was definitely a problem. Ecu was supposed to show up yesterday and didn't will get here today sometime.

I I got everything back together besides ecu. As soon as it gets here I'm gonna throw it on and go test, then bail out for farmersville.

Turned 8300 in 660' but felt like it was not pulling as hard from 7800-8300.

Plugs looked fat, went up a heat range and still looked fat. Needs to be leaned down some I think
