Carbed motors in rough water??
Ive got a 2.4 carbed bp motor that cuts out in rough water for a split sec on impact of 2' waves or bigger... just wanting to know if it was possibly the carb floats doing something to make it drop rpm then pick up again. .

Ok im searching my memory but I remember someones boat in our shop that did this and it turned out to be the trim limit module. Just a thought. You may or may not have one.

we raced carb motors for many yrs,,,,,
3 things I found to keep em crisp in the rough
if floats are set to high fuel will splash up through the brass vent tubes into the ventura
and momentary flood the motor
so have to set them a bit lower/below level
baffles mounted in the float bowls help a lot to keep fuel from sloshing upward towards the vents
and flip the primer solenoid upside down,,,,,with the primer mounted upwards and have wave impact sometimes primer can open and add fuel

yes its like a mercury switch, liquid metal mercury, it would "splash" around and intermittently cut motor out
