well after a several week break to get over being pissed off, I am back at it. spent an hour or two grinding out my screw up from the other day, then it was time for round 2 of putting the transom in...

I am thinking this time will be a success. Thanks to Tom for pointing out the obvious about making some C clamps, wish I had done that the first time!!

The farthest back I know on location is Prarieville/Gonzales, LA (or thereabouts), not sure where (if anywhere) it was before that???

The boat was an endurance race boat on the Mississippi river from my understanding.

Thanks. Just wondering, there was a big race run out of here on the Mississippi for years. I think there were one or two of those.

Thois boat was commonly called "The John Deer Boat" beause of the color and was bought by Mr Scott who owned Scott Ecectric in Greenville Miss. It was driven by several guys and was always amoung the fastest boats in the Outlaws on Water ass. The boat number was 99 had a stock 200hp 2.4 Merc for power. I raced against this boat many times and always knew it was a threat. Most boats in this club were in fact Laser 380`s w/200 Mers untill the Yamha 225 Excel came out and took over. Then Guys started putting the Yamaha on the back of Allison 2002`s and it was over for the Laser`s. A 380 can run circle`s around a 2002 on a short coarse with tight turns but the Outlaws was all about top end speed and not much turning so the 2002 took over and these 380`s were sold with no real place to race them.
I still have mine and it was built for Sprint racing in the old Mod-VP class so it is lighter. It now has Coosa stringers/transom and no splash well. Soon there will be a Wayne Taylor 3.4 on the back anhd i`ll do a lil drag racing with it but just for fun.
