Hydrostream Vking 225 Promax Set Up
Got a Vking and im running a 28p 4blade BBlades prop. Runs around 90mph. With four people in the boat everything runs fine wide open, but when its only me in the boat it starts walking everytime. Is there anything I can do to prevent this from happening? Im also looking at switching to a 3 blade chopper or lightning ET. Any suggestions????

That motor is no good for that boat, I'll give you 100 bucks for it.
We'll need your amount of setback, propshaft height and type of gearcase to avoid any more goofy answers like aboveLiving in the Freedom provided by Bud Conner and his fellow warriors.

Is the hull balanced right for just you? That is important. Start with the trim in the negative. Tap it up to neutral trim as you get into the throttle. Keep the boat flat and running on the ski. With mine, once it gets outta control (over trimmed) it is hard to drive thru it. My best prop is a 28p Lightning labbed by merc.

With 4 people the boat is balanced and when only you, you're missing the counter balance weight. Obviously setup is first to check as many here know far more then I will ever learn! Get them info and some pics and you will have a wealth of knowledge giving you all sorts of things to check and do to remedy the issue. What steering are you using?

Depending on where your fuel tank and battery and possibly trim pump are located in the boat, you'll need to add somewhere between 15-25lbs of counterweight in the port rear wing assuming you're running a side steer.
I just jacked my boat off the bunks and inch or so, sat in the drivers seat, and had a buddy add tools to my soft-side toolbag until the boat got close to balancing. Its not perfect but it will get the hull close enough in balance that it will be drivable guaranteed. I'm sure theres a more scientific way to do it but it worked for me.1976 Hydrostream Viper - 2.5 EFI

I have a sand bag that I use to balance the weight. About 50 pounds wedged beside my passenger seat. Gives my boat perfect balance. I've also never really liked to use choppers on my V-king, to much bow lift. Anytime I am alone in the boat I have the most fun with a cleaver. 14.5 x 28 or 30 should work nice with a promax.
I'm also about 1 1/4 inch above the pad with a bobs cone.
If I don't have my sand bag the bow starts to point left a bit at over 90 mph, very fun to feel like I'm drifting down the lake at 90 + but the slightest bit of a mistake and the walk can begin. Once she starts to walk its tough to get it to settle. They also don't take waves well without the counter weight.Hydrostream V-king 2005 280

How much seat time have you got by your self ?? Seat time and learning to balance the boat with your input may be all that's needed .
