Hello and question on old Baja

I have a 1975 Baja 1600ss with a same year 115 Mercury, power trim. I've had this boat since 1988 and it's always been a reliable and fun boat used mostly for skiing. Anyway, I've failed miserably in my efforts to get my family into boating and regretably need to sell it. The wood is in great shape and seat boxes were recently rebuilt, but the original (yes original) vinyl needs replaced. The engine has always had regular maintenance and has even compression. Any advice on how to go about selling it and making sure it finds a great home?

    Thanks - John

Post it here in Boats under 20 ft For sale Below. Check out Fiberglassics.com and post it there, also Classic Fiberglass Boats on FB https://www.facebook.com/groups/43741356537/

Key is to take a lot of great pictures and post them up in the ad.

Nice looking boat and a big plus is you have a solid windshield.

    Good luck getting her sold.

Thanks Karsten - any suggestions on what to ask?

The engine has been regularly maintained (including new lower seals and water pump recently), the transom is solid, everything works and has a fairly new Taylor made cover. It does need new vinyl, but all of the seat boxes have been rebuilt. The bottom hasn't been touched since new and the trailer needs painting.

Hard to say what it is worth without pictures of the interior and what not. I paid $3300 for my Schuster Tahiti a few years back. Fresh 1971 Evinrude 125 Power head, starter, hull, painted, floor and transom replaced....in need for new vinyl. I rebuilt the bases, rear panel and had everything recovered fro $1500. New carpet, this year new stereo and speakers, hang a 2011 Mercury 150 OptiMax off the back, upgraded to hydraulic steering, Added Mercury Smart Monitor and all new controls.

Now I can't sell it is I wanted to and break even.

Depending on the area I would guess somewhere between $2500-3500.

Karsten - I followed your advice (I hope) and posted in the classifieds on this site. Let me know what you think.

Thanks again for all your advice.
