Speed boat history
Hello everyone, its been some time since I was here. I'm looking for those that can reach back in your memory and bring forward some long lost info. I just bought a boat in Wisconsin, having seen it on eBay I just had to have it. It very well might be the very first mod vp style hull made. While many company's were experimenting with tunnel hull type boat in the late 60s and through the 70s this one brave sole went to work and made a tunnel hull with a center pad and a v nose bow. I don't know when he started this project but it was produced and patented in 1977.(patent issued in 1978). There were only 4 boats produced, the boat company name is Caliber Boats, from Minneapolis, created by Allan Fehn.
So who knows anything about this? Any info is welcome thanks. I will post some pix as soon as I can

Wasn't stating mod vp rules. The design concept began some where and I thing it began here. This isn't a splash with a few changes. This was carved out for the first time

It looks to me like it would need fly the bow to be happy and would that would be an achievement with that big windscreen but I bet it rides nice in the chop. I would say that its a cool find.

Sometimes I believe it's OK to refer to another forum for invaluable information and in this case it's mainly legend Ron Hill behind most of it. Enjoy the reading: Add http://www. to the start of my link address and a few letters I replaced wrongly with _ to complete it since the forum doesn't allow a complete link address: boatrac__gfacts.c__/forums/showthread.php?t=43

The Taylor is very cool. Do you know if the builder applied or was issued a patent for that design? Looks like a California boat. Do you know where is wad built? Yes I will have to check in with Ron hill for some history

Very cool purchase, I'm interested to hear how it handles when you take it out.
