Non compliant fuel and oil line

Old mercury Grey/Red and some oil line. Wow was all we could say. Thought a snake had shed its skin in the bilge of this Grady.

Nothing wrong with those They are sold that way as a preform hose for big $ and you also pay extra for the colors to match your rigging.....

I see Sta-Bil has an "ethanol formula" for their storage treatment. I wonder if that's of any real use or if it's marketing gimmicks.

I have been using Startron in my off shore rig (150 gal tank) since it was released. All it really does is stop "phase separation" for a couple of years. I don't think it does anything to stop the other negative effects of ethanol. I still had to change out all the hoses on my 88 200 Merc after running E10 with Startron as they started degrading. I solved the problem with my other toys and power tools by only using E-free fuel as they don't use nearly as much fuel. BTW I store all my fuel in metal containers with NO venting and it stays fresh. Gary

Never put anything in my fuel and never had a fuel problem. Water etc. The hoses on the other hand are innocent victims of fuel permeation and de-lamination from ethanol. My bro put startron in his tank a few yrs ago and spun his top main bearing on the same tank with his 2.5 200. It was pre mix.....Coincidence? I am not sure....
