What does this run with twin 300's ?

I looked at a Talon 25 years ago. I couldn't quite like or understand the cockpit behind the rear seats.

That's the Talon 25 that was at the Miami Boat Show. The boat is stunning! If I wanted a boat payment I would've bought that boat during the show! If fact, every Checkmate and Hustler they brought down for the Miami Boat show were 10's!!

What else could you do besides the rumble seats? If I had the money I'd try some color matched 400's on it. Those 300's do look good on the back of that boat tho.

Would this boat fit an IO? 520, 540, 565, 600 super charged with a cowl? Looks like you'd be talking a couple hundred more lbs. I'm just a n00b wondering.

Thank you for the kind words Mike. We haven't fully tested this boat to it's max performance yet as the weather has not been cooperating here in NY. However we did get the boat to 85 MPH @ 5,000 RPM. Still more left in the boat.

There is not much we can do without the rumble seats as the boat is a sit down boat. The 25 Talon does have an I/O option and have built the boat up to 600 HP. We recently completed a customer with a Mercury Racing 565, as you can see pictures on our website.

I really like the hull design of the 25 Talon especially including the ride and overall handling, but the deck is sorely in need of a redesign. It's still pure 1980's. The turn up of the front deck in front of the cockpit is terrible. It's not only dated from a cosmetics standpoint, but a really uncomfortable ride being very difficult to not have a wind shear right in the face without adding something like Finney's Flaps, which further ugly up the lines or a fabricated spoiler at the top of the dash. The 22 stern drive, which has a totally different deck than the 22 outboard is a much cleaner design, however still uses the obsolete blacked out fake windshield that you have to look over, sticking your face up in the wind. We have 2 25 Talons, mine a dual outboard and my Son's a stern drive and like everything about 'em except the front deck. Way past time to ditch the old look over design and incorporate a look through of some type. We've tried to figure some way to cut the boat in this area and change to something different, even considering F16 type canopies which don't seem that popular anymore either, but there's just no good option without a major dash/deck overhaul.
