I thought the timer base and flywheel have to match ( and of course pack if you want SLOW) but can put slow flywheel and timer base on old engine?
Or a non slow flywheel and sensor on a SLOW? ( but you eliminate the SLOW)
    Is that Correct Racer

Slow is not controlled by flywheel but quick start does involve flywheel. Timer and pack must match, you can run a non quick start flywheel on a quick start engine if you disable the quick start by disconnecting the orange wires coming from the stator, this is why the race wheel works as you change to a 10 amp stator which does not have the ability.

how does that work if the sensor magnets in the flywheel hub are in a different position on the different flywheels, say 86 versus 96 on a v6 re timing?
