Three Lakes Shootout Year #9 June 24th & 25th (DON'T MISS THIS EVENT!)
Although the ice on the Three Lakes Chain of Lakes only went out a little over a week ago, plans have been worked on for several months to once again improve the event. Those improvements include responding to the request to add a "Powder Puff" class for the ladies which will entail 1st, 2nd & 3rd place trophies as an "anything goes" class. Like the Fun Class, we aren't able to give prize money for the Powder Puff Class, as we have operated at a cash deficit the last couple of years. Another change will be two separate "Top Gun" trophies, one for "Inboards" and one for "Outboards". We think that will spice things up quite a bit.
We aren't yet certain whether the Friday afternoon Tour of the Lakes will depart from Anchor Marine or Pine Isle; that will be announced long before the event however. If you plan on doing the Tour, have your boat in the water no later than 1:30 P.M. as we will depart promptly at 2 P.M. One thing for certain, the Tour has increased every year (last year we had 35 boats!) to the delight of the folks standing on their piers taking pictures & video. One very large physical improvement will be the static display at Bonnie's Lakeside Restaurant following the Tour, Friday afternoon. Ed & Bonnie Lamb tore down most of their older cabins, so boat parking has increased dramatically. As always, indoor, secure boat parking is available & free of charge for all racers at Anchor Marine thanks to Paul ("Pauly Walnuts") & Peggy Aschenbrenner. Make sure to phone in a reservation to Paul at 715-546-8333.
Three Lakes really appreciates the support that has been shown by all the racers coming with friends & family from so many places over the last 8 years. We hope to see you back here again in the Northwoods for the 2016 Shootout. It continues to be a very special event on the Three Lakes Chain of 12 connected lakes.

This is a must event for our area and beyond. Here is an old vid from 2009, which was one of my favorite years for this event, mainly because my New York buddies were there. Word has it, there may be a re-appearance this year

Cant wait, should be fun! Anyone who has done the lake tour, how much fuel do you bring and how long of a run is it? I am planning on getting there Friday before noon this year and wanted to participate, although if it is windy out and not much fun in the Viper I will just head to Bonnie's early!
