Yeah but I think I'm gonna paint up the old school cowl I got. It's in purty good shape.

Thanks. Can't take all the credit. Had a lotta help.

Luv the Bob's True Tracker. Really helps with holeshot. Gotta carbon fiber drag plate I might try later on. After I install the nosecone and get the motor up where it needs to be.

I personally like the look of the Evinrude cowl over the Johnson....I'm doing the same thing with my 1975 Johnson 135...painting it the 1988 light blue and using an Evinrude cowl....think it will match the blue old school flake on my restored Hustler. I got to come down on my motor a little...am up to being 1 3/4 down from the bottom and it looses water pressure and speed as I trim out and appears to start blowing out. Just too high for the old OMC gearcase I think. Was thinking about a cav plate to help with the holeshot but am also considering turning my set of 4" setback plates into a hydraulic jack plate...have an old Suzuki trim and tilt system that might work. Don't want to make this boat into a "raceboat" per se...just want to be in the 55-58 range when I want it.

Dug out that carbon fiber drag plate. Figger I'll get it cleaned up a lil.

Reckon once I get the motor up high enough I'll give her a shot. Cuz even with the True Tracker this thing throws water everywhere comin outa the hole?

Monkeyed around with the trailer a lil this afternoon. New tongue jack. Had to make my own bolts out of threaded rod, but worked out okay.

Turned the winch around so the handle's on the right side. Took it apart and lubed it up too.

Gonna try'n get the steering in tomorrow.

Pourable 'ceramic' transom compound, a la Seacast. We used an Arjay equivalent. AdTech makes one too, and there are probly others.
