Trying to find a S&F Member
Hello All -
I am trying to locate a member in the Carlisle PA area. Member ID is K&B. He posted a Hydrostream Viper for sale back in 8/2014. http://www.screamandfly.com/showthre...Viper-For-Sale The thread never states if the boat was sold . I'd like to find out. If anyone knows how I can locate them here or if the boat sold or not I'd appreciate it.
Thanks

Only two posts he ever did were the two on that thread. On his profile, there is no way to email or PM him--not sure why. Unless someone on here knows him, it would be tough.
Can you read the registration numbers on the picture? (I closed the thread.) Maybe Pennsylvania registration people can helpPer Rock:

Per my hero Instigator:

Yes, I can read the tag on the truck. I will give the PA MVA a shot. I hope they are better than Maryland, as they won't tell you squat. I have been trying to find an old car of mine for decades. All Maryland will tell me is the car is still titled in state.
Anyway, thanks for the reply. I'll see what happens.

Here's what the PA DMV website says:
If I give you a plate number, can you tell me who owns the vehicle?
No. To protect the privacy of our citizens, we will not process a request for information based solely on a tag
number being provided.
So, I'm back to square one. If anyone knows who member K&B is and/or if this Viper ever sold, please let me know.
Thanks

The reason you cant PM or contact K&B is most likely he is no longer a valid member. He posted in the for sale forum. But did so in violation of Forum Rules. (1) Have 100 posts or (2) be a Team member. Neither of which he had. He joined on march of 2007 But only had two posts and both of those were done in the Violation.

Violator! Damn. He has/had a nice boat. I found a Craigslist ad he posted the same time he did here. Because it is long expired, there is no contact info. There are search sites that can pull the data, however you have to be a private investigator, police, etc. to gain access. It is not available to Joe Public. I have reached out to some law enforcement friends to see if I can get anywhere. Beyond that I don't know what else I can do other than go knock on doors in Carlisle PA. Thanks

Well usually if someone posts an add on craigs list with no contact info. It means RUN FORREST RUN. And is usually a SCAM. Just my 02.

I'm pretty certain the contact info was given when the ad was placed. Once a CL ad expires, that info is blocked and the photos can't be viewed. I can see the text only. Not giving up yet...

Well, if he advertised it here and on Craigslist back in 2014 and has not advertised it again, I think you should assume that either
1. it is sold, or
2. that the core was so rotten that the boat fell apart into small pieces shortly after the ad was placed, and ended up swept up into 5 garbage bags, or
3. that the guy was a scammer whose next ad was for a barely used jetskiMarkus' Performance Boating Links:

All possible, especially the first scenario, but never assume anything. I have found old boats/cars/motorcycles in the past from old leads. It happens. In fact, I followed an old Hydrostream.com post for a Voyager and sure enough the boat was still available. I am closing a deal on it, and I'm hard on the search for the right Viper.

Well I found it... sort of. I had a friend in law enforcement tracing the tags shown in the photos when it suddenly popped back up on CL. It did sell two years ago and the new owner was ready to let it go. I brought it home yesterday. It is very nice, recored with the original interior. Problem is, my wife hates it. So I may be moving it on to look for the next thing she hates. Story of my life.
