Yes, the pics of the hull and deck separated are after I stuffed it cruising at 80mph on the San Joaquin River (heading to go watch the Benicia OS races back in Aug, 2000). Luckily, nobody was with me, and I came away unscathed. Glad I had triple 500gph bilge pumps!

Ya with mother nature you pic a path and speed the boat and you are ok with. Wake boats seem to come from every direction and for the size of the wave are much harder than natures.

Long weekend and lots of hours. Could not have done it without my wife.

This was a boat we pulled out of the mold and I did not like the red, it was too dull. So I called the customer and asked him if he cared if we re-gel coated it with new red with a higher gloss in it. So that is what we did. I hate spraying gel coat as it is so hard to get to lay down flat, but it turned out pretty good. The red and black are both gel coat, no paint. Should last a long time now.

Pretty amazing spray of gel before a wet sand and polish. How did you mix and what gun and tip did you use?

[QUOTE=HydroSkreamin;2838114]Joe, I can't give specifics on anything with a single, all I have experience with is twins.

Then why did you say this?

" I can tell you from first hand experience the 400R will kick the crap out of a stock 300XS or 300X, and I certainly wouldn't be afraid to put it against a DBR modded 300XS, either"

I heat my gelcoat to 80 degrees and keep the shop at least 72 degree. We sanded the gelcoat with 220 so it will get a good bite on it. Used acetone with 100% cotton rags to remove all oil and dirt. Mix gelcoat with gloss at 2% MEKP and do about 5 sprays. I mix very little gloss in the beginning and then work it up to a 50/50 blend on the last two coats. I try to have about a 15-20 mil thickness when it is all done. I use a Devilbiss HVLP with a 2.2 mm nozzle.

Funny how it takes a 400hp four stroke to outrun a 300hp two stroke. Not apples to apples in my book

Randy Corson should have this answer for all of us soon with a new Talon SS with a 400R on it.
