Very nice!
Love the sound.
May be the perfect home for a 400r ???
Nicely done Todd.I'd rather be competitive w/junk I built in my garage than win w/stuff I bought.
I refuse to allow common sense to interfere w/my boat buying decisions.

I will say this, and not just because I am an OEM for Mercury products. Mercury has been really awesome to work with since entering the pleasure boat manufacturing world. I have dealt with Mercury with the race boats since the 90's and would have never dreamed a peanut distributor like me could get such service in the recreational world with Mercury. Mercury has really stepped up to help me with these Talons and other boats, whether it be with a 2 or 4 stroke.

Todd will get it figured out I am sure (not being a smart a** with that statement)-he knows I like him. I am sooo glad to see that they got what Adam got out his with a 100 h.p. less years ago (being a smart a**). I am very impressed (being a smart a**), glad I have a few 300X motors for sure (not being a smart a**). They have a long ways to go before they will get me in the purchase line for a 400 (not being a smart a**)... NO MORE CRICKETS-----

Joe, it is ok you are a smart ass. I would not like you if you weren't. If I get one of these to run 115 or better, I expect to see your deposit the next day.
112 is pretty good I think for box stock, but I will not be happy till I see them run 115+. Unfortunately Rich Sellers, who owns the one in California is going on a 2 week vacation without his boat and I have 2 new props here that should put him in the 112 plus range. Richs boat is 1350 lbs, because we put the twin tanks in and I went overkill on their installation. He is at 109 now and he said once he hits 112 he is done with trying to make it go faster.
The boat in Indiana with a 400R is 1200 lbs. The new boat leaving the shop today, Joe Partyka's, is the one I hope to be the shocker. It is a 300xs boat, but with some bottom tricks.

I love the boats and the build quality that you are putting into them (that was never part of my comment). I just don't see the 400 as an advantage or worth while product for anything other then these big center consoles so far. I have yet to see where one stands out enough to justify the money and time over the products that we have had available for the past 15 years. Everyone, including myself, was pumped up that we were going to have a new option available. 4 strokes were proven by the Japs with dirt bikes and snowmobiles so hopefully the guys at Merc. will follow up with bigger cubes or more boost soon as for now the X and XS are still great for the money in comparison.

Don't listen to them Todd. Bigger is always better. Lol. I am pulling for you. If nothing else is sounds better when you tell someone you have 400hp not to mention they look cool as hell on the smaller boats.

I think a light XL with this 400R would be cool.
