I had a member ask me a good question, so I wanted to share it on here to. He asked "why we use mold release and not just wax?" We actually use both. The reason I like using the release is, I have done it for years (stuck in my ways), extra insurance on it releasing easily and I just resurfaced the Talon 22 SS deck mold from stuck decks that were pulled from it in the past. The release makes me have to buff a little more, but it leaves the molds so much nicer and lower maintenance. I have been at shops that spend hours get parts out of the molds and beating on them with hammers. I can have the hull out in 15 minutes and the deck out in 10 with nothing more than a few plastic wedges.

3m Super Duty 05954 to start and then I use either Menzerna PG 1000, 3m O6068 Ultrafine or the 3m white finesse it to finish. I have been playing with a bunch of final compounds and really like the Menzerna.

Seebold had a side by side one they took to the races years back. They would have a draw and the winner got to go for a rip around the course with Bill driving. The nose looks different from what I recall, will see if I can find a pic.

I owned this boat over 10 years ago. It has some Velden parts in it that Ben Robertson used to build it for Annette Ganassi (Chip's) sister to help promote IOGP back in the day. I will have to ask Bennie, but I think Reggie Fountain helped with this to, not 100% on that though. I believe she ran it at Pittsburgh 1-2 times and then it sat till I bought it in 2001 or 2002. I ran it at the Buckeye Lake Ohio APR race back in 03 or 04 and took news media and others for rides. I then took it to some other lake events and had a ball with it. I should have kept it.

Found my old photos from the races in 96, think I took a pic of all the boats except the 2 seater.
Sorry

To build a one of a kind using the F1 molds I have. I would guess around the $45K range all epoxy, foam core and vacuum bagged for a complete bare hull. If the guy who owns this one would let me make a mold off of this one, it should be a little cheaper. He told me if I ever wanted to, to just ask, but I would want to get it in writing first.
