One more thing... I noticed that at the moment of the spin, the driver throttled all the way back which exponentially compounded the lack of thrust started by the prop blowing out due to it being in the low pressure zone of the stepped hull too long. Total lack of awareness of what his boat was doing, and doing the wrong thing when the prop blow out started. The water was not rough for a 38' boat. That could have been easily remedied by sensing what was happening to the boat and doing the right corrective maneuvers as I learned at Tres's driving course. Anyone with a performance boat should take his course and keep everyone safe.

Feel bad for the passengers, someone commented about passengers should have been sitting down, I respectfully disagree, we ran 40' Fountains with 5-7 Navy SEALS and all their gear, never did any of us sit down, rather used our legs/ knee's as shock absorbers running in everything from flat water to a Sea State 3+ at speed.

This guy has to feel like a tool with this video going viral, wonder how many times he's had his balls busted over it?

Why would you post the video?? Unless the lawsuit made it accessible publicly.

Marvin goes by the name of Tripp Carter. He and his partner own multiple Gus's World Famous Fried Chicken restaurants in Tennessee & other areas. His 2003 38 Fountain was capable of just over 100 mph speeds. Tripp said they were going 70 or so, at the time of the accident. A 20 year experienced performance boat passenger on the boat at the time, said they were going 100 + mph...

Accident occurred August 24th, 2012 at 5:42 pm @ LOTO, Mo... Brett Tintera, with Lake TV, who was filming it & was on the boat during the accident, didn't post it on YouTube until August 31st.

I posted about the passengers, and agree with standing and using your legs to absorb the pounding.
My point was the driver didn't once look at passengers, or check that everyone was OK, sorry for the confusion.
What amazes me is he did throttle it back before he exited stage left!

Does he still own his stake in the chicken franchise? :0

The whole stepped out and trim arguments seem completely unnecessary to me. Looking at the slow motion version its clear he bit a wake at a bad angle, the boat tilted in the air and hooked hard when it landed.

No complicated hydrodynamics needed. Just a bad wake jump at high speed! Definitely avoidable but hey, we all make mistakes.
