You could dyno test it and see hp output ,surely it wont make the power it should.and you could use that as evidence in court..just a thought

First off - I am not at all familiar with verados. But, with the ECM reading low water pressure & the overheat warnings (not codes) could that be connected to going into a soft failsafe? ECM sees a potential problem ( low water press.) & attempts to protect the engine? Maybe it's holding rpm's back to what it "thinks" is safe for the water pressure it's reading. Since it's not actually overheating, maybe the pressure sensor is out of range/bad?

You really need to get that boat & motor to a shop with setup experience that can really help or you will continue to spin your wheels, waste time and money on all types of trial an error stuff.....JMPO again!

I think most of you guys are missing key points on his problem. He has had two other motors with less horsepower and no jack plate on boat that gave better results. there is no way his setup is wrong. If you have Whipple ecm put it on motor and see what happens no need for 350 sei computer it's the same engine.
FYI drive boat like you stole it and hope you blow the motor it under warranty no need for attorney after that.
OR go back to dealer and tell them you want to trade in motor for a 400r they say nothing is wrong with your 350sei and you have less than 50hrs on it you should get just about what you paid for it

Mercury is telling me it is due to the big diameter gear case....thinking about calling my dealer and just trading back for a 250 or 300...........and just be happy with it......2200 for a prop and jack plate......right now I am going to see if my gearcase from my 225 will work on it

I can tell you for a fact the large gearcase is a deduction of only 2 mph.

They seem to think it's all from drag. And told me aluminum boat is only designed to go so fast but my 225 with 300 computer put this motor in the dust

Tell Lee Taylor, the guy with the Harvey Aluminum Special that. DO NOT trade it unless they will give you what you have out of pocket in it. If not, take 'em to the cleaners. Maybe not lemon law, a civil suit. With good documentation, & the time & expense it has taken from you - most judges side with the consumer. You should be able to get all the cash & compensation for time, IMO.
