Back of the boat is all glassed. Here, I'm filling the seam getting ready to prime it into a one piece-smooth section.

There was a design body line near the back. Since it won't look right with the graphics I will go with, I am filling it in.

Wouldn't hurt to throw up a tape measure alongside so we can get an idea of the size relationship. thanks

Do you use 3 bilge pumps? 1 per sponson and one in the tunnel?

My alley cat came with 1, mounted on the tunnel!

I put 1 1100 gph in each sponson.

Is the hull infused or bagged, or just hand laid?

    Thanks, Dave

I got the transom all glassed in smooth. I also started cutting the holes in the dash. I am now putting in an in dash 3.5" round guage style stereo since the Sony stereo I used is now discontinued. It's the top hole in the console.

I normally use one pump in the center to cut down on the holes for water dumps, but I'll put in 3 if someone wants that. These boats are hand laid and foam cored but not infused. They may be infused in the future but will cost more then.

    Definition of FEA

Hull and deck moldings are thin there out of the mold to allow for the laminate.
If you FEA a hull design its obvious its the way to do it not over lap, add rubrail and bolt thru as that makes a hard point with a tear along the dotted line issue.
Not an issue in everyday boat but when you crash a race boat it generally makes the deck fail
Hat box versus a pipe story. Flex not solid as Todd said.
Easy to do with big volume hulls like a ski boat but hard on something you cant get inside of
Ok, I guess I will raise my hand as a dumbazz but what is FEA? thanks

How about numbering the holes and giving a list of what they are used for, got the stereo one! thanks

    FEA...Finite Element Analysis
is a computerized method for predicting how a product reacts to real-world forces, vibration, heat, fluid flow, and other physical effects. Finite element analysis shows whether a product will break, wear out, or work the way it was designed.
