It's been another crazy year for us southern streams....met new friends....had some good and bad boating ....but we continuing to get some more boats together and meet new people with the same love for these old boats. Hopefully 2017 brings new faces....new events ....and good times.....maybe even a few long distance trips

What can I say, some are complaining about 2016 being a bad year for some reason or another. From my perspective, It was a great year overall. Sure, I had some unexpected twists, but some things are just out of your control and you have to accept that. Looking back at the boating year, it sure was a great one, almost unbeatable for me. Met a lot of real nice folks from several different states and did a ton of boating in the warm and in the cold. Boating with the Hydrostream group, with all of the original founders, new members from all over the country and, of course, sharing water with Howard and Susan Pipkorn, it really cannot get any better.

When we started this group, I think we all could say that meeting Pip, and boating with him was the ultimate goal. It seemed like such a far reach. But now, Pip has been a regular. He still loves the boats and all of the comradery that goes along with it. We could all talk to him for hours on end about the boats, designs, motors and the old days of racing. It is truly amazing and thank you all that have participated. We look forward to a great year coming up in 2017. Hopefully, we can see a bunch of you on the water this year. Let's see where the water takes us.............

In reference to the Hydrostream Power Tour:

Hope to get over there at least once with you guys this year. 2016 was the best boating year I've had in a long time.

@FlowMaxx, @Sonik, Brian, and everybody in the Power Tour, I'm sure I speak for everybody here when I say that we are all so grateful for all you have put into performance boating and the friendships we've all made.

As you know, the Power Tour has always represented a very special type of boating for me, and although I have not yet attended a Power Tour event, we have all benefited from the posts and incredible photos. No other boating photos have a larger impact on me than seeing classic Hydrostreams. They were the stuff of all my dreams growing up... when all the kids in Jr. High School wished they had Camaros, all I could think of was those sparkling Hydrostreams parked in front of Muscle Boats in Massapequa. I'm sure all of that daydreaming had a negative effect on my grades somewhat.

As you also know, 2016 was a very challenging year for me at times due to family health scares, but in the end I have always been thankful for my extended family here. At times when I couldn't sleep (which is often lately), I would scroll through Power Tour photos and posts on my iPad. You've all made a huge impact on so many people. When you and Janna would take Sandi and I on your V-King for the Suwannee run, that meant a great deal to me, and it was just such an incredible feeling being in a Stream again... and the sounds of your Even-Fire cranked V6 made it that much better.

I still have my plane ticket from last year, and I will be using it this summer. I am really looking forward to this summer. So much is going on and I really want to focus much more on member boats and projects as feature articles. And videos - we can't ever get enough of that.

To everybody here, thank you for your support, good times, and friendships you've all given us. 2017 is going to be great!

    Greg

I cannot say enough about this group and how helpful and fun everyone is at these events and during the week with issues and questions. Greg, if it wasn't for this site I most likely would not own a HydroStream! Thank you to all and I cannot wait for spring!

Hey guys - I hate to be an obvious dumbass, but sometimes it's unavoidable. Where and when exactly is the HS Power Tour? How do I find out about accommodations? I'd like to at least get it on my calendar. My summer is already shot with other club events. I have limited time off from work and even fewer get out of jail cards from the warden.
