I'm looking at a newer motor with Factory warranty, the new Etec are really strong looking engines and the torque is a major selling point for me. I need the torque for acceleration out of the turns. My class speed of 85mph (OPA) and 95mph (SBI) will be easy to reach with a 225 H.O. it's the torque I need.

I bought one for my Starliner that i'm getting redone over on the Checkmate page. They make a conversion kit that allows you to use old controls. Also the were running a promo last year that gave away the rigging...keep and eye out for another promo. I bought mine off BBC...NIB.

If you guys are looking for a REAL data point, I picked up my new in box G2 250HO with 5 year warranty for $15.5K + new controls and gauges...I was $18K out the door.

As an Evinrude dealer I can tell you that is cheaper than my cost. Wondering how they did that..

I picked it up off Bass Boat Central this fall. I asked the dealer the same question and he stated they were a Merc dealer that Evinrude was trying to win over and offered them some motors at a very discounted price so they said okay... but they sat there and sat there and they finally ended up putting them on the classifieds on BBC. I scooped one...rigging wasn't cheap though and my warranty started immediately after purchase even though it's not rigged on the boat being restored yet. Hope it lives up to the billing. Same dealer also sells Mercs on the classifieds of BBC for pretty good prices too.

Rode in a 34' Yellowfin w/ twin 300hp G2's Friday down at the Miami Show, and I was impressed with the power and fuel mileage. Cruising at 40 mph, the fuel gauge on the Etec view screen was reading 3.5 miles per gallon. Boat topped out between 52-53 mph with 5 of us on board. Not bad considering the boat is over 10k pounds.

I'm sure they have the price down, so they can get them sold. Outside of the Etec booth and docks, I didn't see any on rigged boats. It was 90% Merc/Yamaha, with a handful of Suzuki's.

It's also stated for warranty must be rigged by authorized dealer with predelivery check. Dealers selling in the box could lead to issue down the road.
Not sure about discount levels since closing dealership but can tell you prior to 2016 multiple levels based on purchase amount and additional discount for cash payment, we bought enough to get best discount and paid cash at order so we could sell under dealers in our area.
