    My 79 vking

Okay fellas, one hydrostream viper wasnt good enough. Yes its still in two pieces before someone asks. My plans are to recore it this winter. I ran across a 79 vking on good ole fb and had to have it. Came with a steel trailer, 2.0 150 and a 27 srx. Was told the boat was recored with composites but had some wood where the hot foot is. First time out, ran 74 and almost threw me out. Driver error here, not ashamed to say it. Picked the motor all the way up, got 78 mph at 6400. Running good and straighter. Last run a while back, hit a wave and ripped the steering wheel out the dash. Had enough and parked it for about a month. Had a buzz one night and decided, man i'd like to put the same bottom as motorheadbishop had. Well kept drinking and decided man I'd like to have a vking bottom and a venom style windshield. My skills are par at best and yes i think I could've done the job but didnt quite trust myself enough to take on a task this big and trust it after without knowing for sure its done right! I took a backseat and decided to learn from someone that knew what they were doing. After about two weeks I found the man to do it. We kicked around ideas for another two weeks or so and decided to rip out the floor and check the core and transom while in there. Core and transom checked out good and was composite as i was told. Got a new sheet of composite put in the floor and knees put in also. Decided to run a 27 gallon tank, all livorsi gauges, rowboats custom shifter, center steer with a bench in the back, adjustible drivers seat, still tinkering about what kill switch i want and different hot foot. Goal here, after all the mods are done, run it with the 150 and see how the boat is. Iron out potential problems and build a hotter motor next year. Like I said thats the plan but yes plans do change. Yes i will have a lifeline on order before long also. I missed the thread about the group buy on em and want to kick myself in the butt. Pics too follow..the pics are on the hydrostream page on fb also.

I also am beginning a V-King resto...and yea, I have a Vector to be done after that.. One Stream is good...2 must be better.. right?
I actually acquired the Vector first, but recently found a decent V-King to do. The majority of good people here suggested the V-King being a better lake boat having better manners than the Vector. So I heeded their advice and found the V-King. Both mine are 79's as well.
Also going the epoxy and composite route with both.

I like the looks of what you are doing. Nice being creative, wood and glass, or epoxy and composites give way to your imagination.

James, if 2 is good then 3 has got to be better lol I was always fond of balsa before this. Now I'd try composites over wood. I just wasn't familiar with it and didnt know what to think. I came up with the idea and he took it and ran away. I wanted the vector but heard the vking was better. Should be nice when its done

Update: The top of the boat is block sanded for straightness and its flipped. Currently getting the paint removed off the bottom so he can add strakes and wedges. Also picked up a big bearing 260 for it. At the shop getting dressed out with electrics.
