Looking to have a few pieces of my interior re did or maybe get all done custom. Looking for suggestions would be better if closer to Chicago. Also looking into replacing wood in interior with composite to save some weight and where is a good place to order from. Thanks

Been using Sintra PVC board in all marine interiors since the mid 90's, when it came out. Sintra brand was the first to come to market. Never a need to use plyrot any more. Takes a staple(stainless) well, can be glued with regular PVC cement, is lightweight, and can be mechanically fastened as well with screws. Takes a stainless T-Nut & threaded s.s. studs for side coamings, etc. perfectly. Can be purchased at any decent plastics warehouse wholesaler in various grades, density's, colors & thicknesses. White is most commonly used for marine interiors and marine exterior upholstery. Also available in different quality grade surface finishes to further save you money, as it is never seen. There are now a few knock-off brands of PVC board that are less expensive & totally acceptable in quality. NOBODY uses plywood in upholstery, in the boat building industry these days, unless they are in the dark ages.

My plywood seat was completely rotted ( you can see in the pic). Boat is completely covered and seat rarely got wet.
Whats weird is all the other upholstery has king starboard backing.13' Biel tunnel AKA "Flight Risk"

Any local plastic supplier handles PVC Foam Board . The Sintra brand is one of the best but it's not necessary to use that brand . 3/4 " / 19 MM is around 120.00 for a 4 X 8 sheet .

Like I said, it is also available in different density's as well. In other words, different weights, for a given thickness. This is accomplished by how much its aerated, the amount of air bubbles are injected into it, during its manufacture. This can make a BIG difference in its weight. The lighter panel material is no weaker that the heavier version. The lighter the density, generally, the higher the price. Again, these various density's are only available from a larger plastics(think PlexiGlas) warehouse wholesaler.
