    21 Skater Speed Estimate

Anyone ever run a 21 Skater with a 225 PM or 225X? What speeds would you see with this combo? Love a 260 or 280 but I need more dependability...Thanks...

21 skater needs twins or single 300x,xs don't do a single 225 you will be disappointed when you try to see 80 hopping all the time plus it will be a dog especially with passengers, twin 225 pm's or 225x's all day
    if you want reliability

Eli posted before I could finish typing basically what he said!! I have a 21 Skater(pics in my albums) with a 280 and it needs more power. I am repowering it with a 300x right now. With a 280 I got 90 gps with about half tanks of fuel and just me. I am sure I could of chucked out all the interior, swim ladder cooler etc and gained maybe another 5 mph. My guess is 80 with a 225 pm, and hopping like crazy right up to that point.

90 with 280 wow i would expected more. I agree that they do like more power but it really depends where you run the boat. I love mine with a bone stock 250 etec. 5mpg been 90 already only had boat short time hoping to get more when i switch to better prop

Thanks Guys...Was expecting a little more! I had a beat on a 225 PM for a good price, but I think I will pass. How is the balance with a 300X? Would a 15 inch mid be beneficial for handling/ performance? If so in what way?

    ,

not sure where you're at with boat & motor ownership or pricing, but there's a nice Skater 21 with 15" 300X in OSO

the boat handles perfect with a 300x the only problem is getting water to the powerhead, external water pick up
