I got bored. My 21 Rallysport is the victim!

I ordered this 21 Rallysport new back in 2001. It's the only one ever made with a full transom. I sold it 10 years ago. I have always liked this boat, so when I saw that it was for sale again, I bought it back. That was last Friday. The boat is very good shape and had a 2005 Yamaha V-Max 300 on it. I just got looking at it over the weekend and decided to "freshen up" a few things. Well one thing led to another and I ended up gutting the boat, Motor, jackplates, interior, carpet, etc. I used a high pressure pressure washed and it took all the carpet glue off. I even stripped it all the way into the cabin. Here's what it looked like when I got done.

I see a brand new PPI interior and a new 300XS with warranty hanging off a Porta Bracket. Have them do the interior with tiny rear facing integrated seats to the front buckets West Coast style. Good for kids to sit and small easy access coolers below.

Full transom boat built 10 years before yours

Here is mine, I bought it down there by the chain of lakes and had it checked out by a fiberglass specialist and got the green light that it was structurally sound.
I got it up here to new york and got it to the point yours is at right now and decided to do some investigating on my own and found 90% of the wood structure in the boat was softer than cardboard (you could poke a screwdriver in it like it was dirt). I wont get into the specifics because it will upset too many people on this board (like last time).

Boat went to Raybo and the rest is history.

Keep us informed on the rebuild Looks like it will be a cool project!

I'm assuming that you still have that Rallysport 21. What actual year is that hull?

I'm working on getting "before" pics. All the wood is very solid. No issues. The white gelcoat is as shiny as the day I got it new. I haven't decided wether or not I will change the colors and interior yet. I will Awlgrip the entire back of the interior. I will also fix a few small stress cracks that are in the rear corners of the sun deck hatch.

Randy, Sounds like a fun project!......
Power will be ???? I say twins or I/O SBC!....
Personally I like the way that Intimidator boats did their splash well, rounded with no sharp corners.

Mine is a 2002 and from what I can tell it is very solid also! Even the new holes I drilled on the transom the wood shavings came out dry and clean like new wood.

Power will be Merc 250xs or 300xs if I sell the Yamadog. This boat will be kept at my cabin in Tennessee and run on Douglas Lake. Rallysports have the exact same bottom as a Superboat, Challenger, Intimidator, Tuff, ECT. 22 degree with a 6.5" wide pad.
