IIRC there weren't many ratios available for the toploader so I hope you are successful in your search. The prop may be the key to getting the performance you want if gears aren't available-unless you have hit on a good prop setup. I suggest you go over to www.v-drive boat.com and inquire there. Mike, aka Mouzer has a line on lots of v-drive parts and may know where to go on this. Also George Shilala aka GFinishline and Steve Peterson aka stevo143 are past masters at setting this stuff up. You never know until you ask these guys for guidance.
Hope this helps....Dave1972 Raysoncraft 18LP v-drive Chev 454

gears
Hi Dave,
Thanks for your re!
I know these gears become harder to get. Ive seen some 24s lightened whent on ebay some months ago but i noticed to late...
As I am in europe and one of a few with a flatbottom v drive, for parts, props and gears i have to look in the Us.
I dont know what a good prop would be for my set up,?? only thing i found out is that the props i have 2b steel 12x16 and a 11x16 pull air and vibrate a lot.
Performance wise it tops out at only 58 mph but does that in a breeze, making me think the engine can have more load. So plan is to step up in gears (and go down in prop when needed)...Then i can ad more torque/HP, with the 1.17s im more restricted unless i Rev up the engine but the velvet dive dont like 5.5k and up.
I had contact with Mouzer, Andy and Steve on performance boats, Mouzer have none, Andy either
Still trying to get back in contact with Steve. and will try to get in contact with George.
When you know some, ideas or what ever, please gimme a sign.
Thanks!
Frankm
