    gearcase

    beiing an omc guy
    i got this xr6? gearcase with 15" shaft
    reverse removed
    shifter on side of case
    nose cone very professionally done
    appears to be 2.25/1 gearing
    what the heck do i have?
    I was planning to adapt it to my v4

    Gear ratio sounds close to the xs85 which is a small diameter gear case.

    Are the guts the same my understanding was this was set up for drag racing and I even have on omc shaft to go in it ??

    I tried to run one of them 20 years ago and it would not hold up to what I ran then and that was way before I knew how to build horsepower. With today's motors I doubt it would last any time at all. If it was for drag racing I doubt it is an xs85.

    Its a XR6 case with a 12" shaft and a 2.33 gear....

    Its had plenty of nitro driving it....

    It will hold up to any V4 you can build....

ID:	329401Here is the boat bottom after all the repairs. Also the gearcase which I am building the adapter and mid for now. It will be 15"
