To appreciate what kind of horsepower it takes to get into the 7's. Earl Moorman and Jon built my motors. They dyno'd out at Earl''s around 350-360 hp, which is not a whole lot now for a 2.5, but was pretty good back then, but we were then cramming approx. 200-250 hp of nitrous through it. That got me into the 7's at 140. Jon made many runs in the mid 7's at 140 and 150, so think of what kind of power he was making. Pretty awesome for doing most of it on his own and lesser equipment.

I think that Dave will have no problem running the numbers once he gets the set up right. "DAVE PUT THE DAMN RUDDER ON THE BOAT." Trust me enough of us made enough runs in these and you will need it with the kind of power you are making. The stock skegs won't hold up. You are making more power than any of us ever had. I just don't want to see you get hurt my friend. Please set this up to the specs of an unlimited outboard. Something else to always think about with any racing. If you go out and get hurt, wreck the boat or what ever. The new rule consequences passed on to others may be to high and kill this class. For example. They threatened us with break away capsules in the 90's and the biggest thing they were after was a ratcheting gearcase. Whatever you decide, good luck and be safe.

I am sure Jon would not have a problem with someone breaking his record it has stood for 10 years and it's probably time. But I can gurantee you if he was still around he would be plotting how get it back. I will be at Jasper Saturday and look forward to checking out Daves boat. Everbody have a fun, fast and safe weekend. And Gator the record is 7.52/156

Thanks for checking in Rodney. You have been missed.
I'd rather be competitive w/junk I built in my garage than win w/stuff I bought.

I refuse to allow common sense to interfere w/my boat buying decisions.

This seems like old times. I am leaving the house to meet a guy that runs our pistons in Chattanooga that is at Jasper that needs a flywheel. Nothing like a thrash. Just happen to have one that Jon did his thing on.

ID:	329515We struggled with electrical issues all week but this is what it is all about. A big thanks to Joe Abellera, Jim Stevenson and Acie Stringfield all others who helped, spoke, and we're just encouraging. I caught myself having flashbacks of the many times my son Cody was there with us. I miss you son. But I thanked God for another memorable weekend with the family I have left!☺️

    KILLER!

Talked to my spy yesterday ( ) and heard about the struggles.
No matter how good, how smart or how well funded....., it hardly ever goes as planned.

Joe was the chief in the organization department. He kept every thing put back in place and that is a small miracle when you have at least 4 people working out of the same tool box. I'm glad Y'all made it home safe.
