It really should be bigger news on here that perhaps the quickest outboard ever put together is at a boat race within driving distance of many. Dave's boat is the real deal, anybody that knows him is taking this boat and motor very seriously

He is keeping his Facebook page up to speed.
Based on his comments of testing at 800' in Jasper before going back to Firebird for 1000', wondering if he can even still run 1320' which is is what (I think) Jon Wrights 7.56 is set at.
i think the slower IHBA classes still run 1320?I'd rather be competitive w/junk I built in my garage than win w/stuff I bought.
I refuse to allow common sense to interfere w/my boat buying decisions.

You're correct Instigator, they still run both... slower classes run 1320... he'll be able to do either...

TFH, TAH, TAF, PO 1000'.. PM will depending on venue (water)... PM and all other 1000 footers (Pro boats) are supposed ta have tha approved capsule/equipment as of right now.. don't think they have run inta this before with an outboard.. I do know if ya run better than .30 under 7.70 in 1320 or 5.70 1000 foot in a boat without one ya gonna get a tongue lashin' at tha very least tha first time..... so it might get interestin'.. i'm sure they have had this conversation though...

Dave is a smart dude am I'm sure already covered those bases.
For some reason though, the distance thing didn't register.
I was huge fan of Jon Wright while he still ruled the planet and worked very hard to get where he did.
I know in talking to Jon, and watching that boat run, I don't think he wanted to go any faster.
Rodney Nance was his cohort in crime/best friend and I've tried unsuccessfully to get him to post on here again.
Somehow I think Mr Wright would be OK losing his record to Mr. Bush
Thanks for all the insight guys.Last edited by Instigator; 10-08-2015 at 04:36 PM.

Lucas...
7.00 at 1320 right now.. 5.70 at 1000'... all classes will go ta 1000' in 2016... i'm really curious 'bout tha capsule thing.. know a few "open boat" (hydos and flattys) guys that will really be pissed if they (Lucas) let someone run tha numbers "without" tha expense, added weight, tech of tha capsule...
