    1992 triad v21

*SOLD* thanks for all the interest. Thanks scream and fly.

One year ago I talked the original owner of this 1992 triad v21 into digging it out of the back of his heated wood shop. It had been stored and unused there since 1998. It has a very low hour 260. Originally it was a smooth back 260 offshore but he changed the can to a bass style because of the noise. Still a 1 piece off shore plate and single ram offshore clamp. Because the motor had not been started for years I originally swapped the complete motor for an existing 260 I already had running on my stv. I put the original in the garage for a winter project. The motor got a maticulous oiling and I never ever turned the crank until the motor had 3 months of repetitive oiling of cylinders and all bearings were hand injected with a syrnge. When it came time I put all new cdi electronics on it. New stator etc. My best stock 260 flywheel and injectors etc. My best 260 computer with a 48 chip. All new tygon lines. When I did finally put a flywheel on the motor I turned it over with 2 fingers, smooth as silk (no plugs of course). I have yet to do a leak down but compression was 124 even initially. I know this motor is bone stock, never been opened and less than 50 original hours. Motor turns 7200 rpms with full tank, 31 pitch prop, full cooler and 2 passengers. I have no doubts about the atrength of this motor. The lower unit is a 4 hole cle that i just went through and put new 1.87 gears in this spring. I did pin the carrier recently because it turned slightly because keyway must have fell out during assembly. I found the spin after only a few minutes of run time. This was the best of all my lower units. The boat is a beauty. Has not been waxed since the 90's only cleaned up at the car wash. Solid deck, flawless interior. Only flaws are a crack on a corner of the sundeck fiberglass near the hinge. It does not move and has not expanded. Original owner said sundeck was not latched and flew open on interstate. Other flaw is 2 fades on front deck where original cover had two large holes in cover and sunlight was allowed in for years. This should be able to be wet sanded down to good finish. Trailer is excellent. I am selling boat with motor for 16,500 or boat and trailer for 10,500. I will not sell motor seperate, I'll be happy to keep the motor for my next stv. This is my best motor out of many low hour and fresh 2.5s.

Beautiful example of Wally's work. I know of only two others around me and for a go fast-go family boat, they are unbeatable. I had a 2004 Euroski too. Faster...Sure. As comfortable or roomy, not. I don't know how many Triad built, but you don't find many for resale. You could hang a 250 XS or an E-Tec on this, or a 250/300x(s) and a wife with a couple of kids would want to go with you. I assure you a hull with a 12" mid and worked 300 Drag will not be as loved, or by most everyone else on the lake over 50 years old. You could actually water ski or tube too because the hull handles almost like an inboard. If you can get the wife driving it all the time, you can go buy a second boat just on fuel savings. Then go run it over 120, and flip or roll it. Then you can get your loving family's attention back again, even some nurse's. They love to write on plaster.

I want to thank Jason (BigKidd) for being a fantastic seller to deal with. I bought this sight-unseen just based on photos and Jason's word and it was just as described. There are still good guys out there !
